These two are from Northstar if I remeber right. They were scultued after original pictures from members of CNT/FAI-militias. Never got started to paint some more minis from spanish civil war. So just these two.
For military and political leaders one of the worst things that could happen in a war is fraternisation with the enemy. As people who know eachother tend not to be aggressive against eachother – sadly exeptions happen.
Anyway – one of the best kown fraternisations happen druing the Great War at the Western Front at Christmas 1914 – unsurprisingly named Christmas Truce.
As soon as I had seen Wargames Illustrated did a vignette in their „moments in history“ series I must get them. And here are the results.
For pen & paper RPG I sometimes use miniatures. But manly I am into cool minis. So I got these minis as use in Pulp and Horror – esp. Cthulhu – RPG but manly for my own pleasure to paint. They would also suit well in Very British Civil War, Interwar espionage or Itras By.

Fantasy with magic, orcs, elves, dwarves and other people are not limited to some would-look-like medieval or bronze age setting. Urban fantasy with vampires and werwolves crwaling the streets are bestsellers – no to mention Shadowrun. Weird fantasy at WWII and Wild West are common among RPGs.
At miniatures level you get easy access to classical fantasy as well as SF-Fantasy (thanks the evil empire games). Others settings are rare. But you get 19th century Napoleon-War with lots of cool minis. I own just some small minis but these are even more appreciated.
15mm is my favorite scale for massed miniatures games – which is for me more then 10 minis a side. As I am in exotic backgrounds and settings I love Aggro 70 (german / english). Getting into fight over whos team is the best is much more fun on tabletop as on the streets.
So I have done some research to get minis for 15mm Aggro. I have found usefull minis at Rebels Minis (modern rioters, pulp thugs and pulp policemen) Khurasan Miniatures (modern rioters / zombies) and Irregular Miniatures (rioters – not in the pictures).
All had to be converted. Manly to get a football-look with scarves. Also the police got their heads removed to get an english look.
Bought ages ago the limited edition 5th year anniversary vignette from Freebooter Miniatures. This is one of my favorite vignettes as the sidkick is awsome and the captain shows elegance and toughness. Also the arrangement with figurehead and chest is very dynamic. And did I mentioned the crab?
The only problem is the poor quality of the pictures. But either I stop complaining or get enough money together for a better camera and a lightbox.
My first Aggro-Minis were finished weeks ago. But now I was able to get some pictures. So here ist the crew accompanied by two Bobbies to keep lwa and order.
As this groupshot don’t show the details I have taken portraits. As I my camera is a cheap one, I don’t have managed to build a lightbox by now and I not a crack with GIMP, the colours have a bit to stark contrast. Esp. at the lad in the white shirt. But anyway they are close enough to get the right expression and look good anyway.
I have also taken some pics of the policemen though they were already presented here.
So my firm got their last higlights. Now I have to look for forgotten details or accidents. After this just varnishing and thinking about what to do next with’em. Making a diorama or painting more to get a complete firm.
Meanwhile I have managed to get some more paint on my firm. Now it’s just a last highlight.
I am very pleased by the colour of the jeans. I have mixed darkblue and darkgrey to get a base, highligh is added wiht lightgrey, shadows just some black.
Both of the „hippieguys“ will get decorations on their sweaters. But I have skipped to give the Renee some tattoos. But maybe I will change my mine after I have got my new glasses.
